Project Management 101
This page is still under construction! 🏗️
Let's get started by discussing in general terms how you perform a successful project management with GoHusky.
Do keep in mind that GoHusky tells you first and foremost that you should be pragmatic. It's a dog eat dog world out there. And sometimes, you must hunt in order to eat. In an ideal world you would just sit around all day and get free treats. No such luck, as the big bad wolf is out there, and they're out for blood - ideally for them you would be doing everything they want with zero budget to spend. No such thing is possible as otherwise you would end up a very tired husky. You need to manage your time and resources as if you were running the Iditarod, and most of the time you don't have a dozen wheel-dogs to help you pull. It is now up to you, the pack leader, to make sure you reach the goals.
No matter if your project is currently being driven with an agile strategy, or plain old time-proven waterfall, there are bound to be the same kinds of issues in your relationship with the drivers and the wheel-dogs that you will oh-so-hard try to prevent:
- Too many requirements for a small timeframe, badly estimated requirements
- Unrealistic time and cost expectations from the Drivers
- Uncontrolled delays cause milestones to slip, or features take up extra sprints
